Our History

Grace Lutheran School was founded in 1896 in the Little Village neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago. The school initially served an Eastern European population that lived in the neighborhood. During the following decades, the demographics of the neighborhood have shifted to a primarily Mexican population. In 2010, the name “Grace Christian Academy” was adopted. While the new name helps the school better connect with its neighbors, the mission remains the same as it was in 1896. Grace continues to shine the light of Jesus through a quality Christian education. ​

Every child deserves success in high school, and 96% of Grace alums graduate from high school.

Every child deserves the chance to grow in faith and become Christian Leaders in their communities.

​As a school of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), we follow its teaching and tenets. Grace welcomes families from many different faiths, but teaching the Christian faith remains the foundation of our school.
