In 4th through 8th grades, students are given the opportunity to learn an instrument thanks to a partnership with Walther Christian Academy.
Students pay $200 per year to participate plus a $100 instrument deposit and receive weekly one-on-one instruction with a music teacher from Walther.
Students can learn the instrument of their choice from a selection of woodwinds, brass, and percussion. As students improve their skills, they may be invited to join Monday night band which practices at Walther in Melrose Park. This group of students is given the opportunity to perform several times throughout the year.
Drama
Whether your child was born to be in the spotlight or is ready to try something new, the Grace Drama Club invites all children in grades 1-8 to participate! Grades 1-4 and grades 5-8 each meet once per week during the spring and participate in games, activities, and readings that build their confidence and comfort level while also working on listening skills, following directions, and awareness of surroundings.
Each May, both groups perform skits and plays for their families and friends.
Choir
Students in grades 5-8 are invited to join the Grace Christian Academy Choir. Students in choir showcase their talent at Grace’s partnering churches throughout the school year, as well as at school events including the Christmas Program and Graduation.
Students in 1st-2nd grade are invited twice a year to sing at our mission partner Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church's Sunday service.
Art Club-
Art Club is available for K-2 grade & 3rd-4th grade . It is split into a winter session and a spring session. At the end of the program, an art fair is presented to showcase the students projects.
