"During my time at Grace, I really appreciated the time teachers took to stay after class or come early. I never liked Mr. Benson’s class (5th/6th grade) but when I look back now, his character was really a reality check. He always wanted us to take his class seriously and act a bit more maturely. Grace as a whole, though, has made me a giving person. This trait has carried out through my life thus far.
Thinking back on the impact of the staff, if it weren’t for Ms. Snizzle who helped me learn to read, I would probably have been a year behind in school so I appreciate the extra time and attention she gave to teach me that skill when I was struggling. Mr. Benson definitely helped me realize there is a time to joke around and a time to be serious. In 7th and 8th grade, Mr. Hansa, I think, wanted to instill in us the reality after Grace. He was sometimes direct and blunt, but it was a good thing because it helped us become better people. Grace truly abides by their mission statement (preparing students for success in high school, college, and beyond), but only if you are willing to give 110% every day. The teachers will always be there for you, so use them! They are there to guide you and push you to a limit you are not seeing… not yet." -Raul Andrade - Alumni 2013 Raul attended Grace starting in Kindergarten through his 8th grade graduation in 2013. He is currently a freshman at DePaul University. "Transferring my daughter to Grace for the second half of 5th grade has been one of the best decisions I have made for her. It is a small community so everyone knows everyone and is a safe environment. The school does a lot to help and work with the parents. As a single parent, Grace has truly been a blessing. From having before/after care available, transportation services, the athletic programs and the availability from the Principal whenever you need him, it has been a great experience. I highly recommend Grace to any parent who wants their child in a safe and positive environment."
-Olivia Meraz - Parent SAFE ENVIRONMENT
"At Grace, everyone knows everyone so it feels like a safe environment. At my last school, everyone had their own little groups and here people are friends with all different people, even people in different grades. In my opinion, Grace is really different than other schools. Here you can really be yourself and no one judges you for it." TEACHERS "Each teacher I have had teaches differently but they’ve all been good. Each one impacted me in different ways but the way they teach is fun." CHALLENGING CURRICULUM "The most challenging thing at Grace is the Science Fair. For the project, you have to understand every part of the research because you don’t know what the teachers might ask when you present your project." -Citlali Velazquez – 7th Grade |
