VolleyballGirls and Boys in grades 5-6 and 7-8 are invited to join the Grace volleyball. The season runs during September and October and is open to all skill levels. Students must have a current sport’s physical on file with the school to play. Students who are new to the game are given a chance to learn the fundamentals and develop their skills over several years of practice and competition. Games and tournaments are held at other Lutheran schools throughout Chicagoland.

BasketballBasketball is open to boys and girls in 5-6 for practice and games during November and December and for 7-8 graders during January and February. A current physical on file at Grace is required to play. Students of all skill levels are welcome to join. Students are encouraged to develop and build their skills over each year of practice and competition. Games and tournaments are held at other Lutheran schools throughout Chicagoland.

CheerleadingCheerleading is open to students in grades 5-8. Students learn fundamental skills and a variety of cheers which they perform at basketball games throughout the November – February season. The team is led by Mrs. Giannotta and gives an introduction to the sport for students who may be interested in continuing with cheer, dance, or gymnastics in high school.

Girls on the Run - GOTRGirls on the Run is offered each spring to grades 3-5 or grades 6-8 depending on interest. GOTR is an international organizational that provides a unique learning curriculum for grades 3-5 and middle school girls in 6-8 that teaches everything from communication, health and wellness, to self-esteem while preparing the team of girls to run a 5K. The race draws more than 5,000 runners in downtown Chicago in late May or early June. Students pay $35 to the GOTR organization in order to participate. The fee covers snacks, lessons, and practice held twice per week March-May in addition to covering their transportation and fees for the GOTR 5K.
