Welcome back message from Mrs. Ross ![]()
Hi all, Here is our August 2020 Calendar, along with the school supply lists for each grade. Thank you to the families who attended the parent forum the other week. We have uploaded that power point here as well. This coming school year we will offer parents the options between Hybrid learning or E learning. Hybrid will meet in class at school Mon/Wed/Fri with E learning at home Tues/Thurs. E learning will take place at home all 5 days. We will be using Zoom, Swivl and each student will receive their own device to help with E learning. Parents will be asked during final registration on the 13/14th to pick a method of learning. Parents will be committed to that type of learning until the end of the quarter which will be Oct 23, they can then switch if they so please. This plan will be implemented from Aug 26 when we start school until the end of the semester in January. We will then reexamine with regards to COVID and redetermine our course of action. ![]()

Registration for 2019-2020 is almost here! Pre-registration will open February 25, kicking off Lutheran schools week at Grace. We offer a special discounted price ($35/student) for new or returning students who register during Lutheran Schools Week! This is a great time to join the celebration of everything small, Christian schools have to offer.
Grace students will also get to enjoy dress up days, a student verses staff volleyball game, speech contest, and an indoor picnic lunch. We are especially excited to announce a new preschool option that allows parents to choose between full-day or half-day preschool! Depending on child or family needs, parents can decide which option will best support their child's growth and development during these essential early childhood years. If you are considering Grace Christian Academy, we encourage you to reach out now to schedule a visit. We would love to have you be part of our community for 2019-2020! We are so grateful to all the individuals who generously support Grace and tax time is a great time to get something back. When you generously support Grace, be sure to take full advantage of the tax benefits!
The Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship program is beginning its second year. The program supports low and middle income families with 50-100% scholarships to private schools, including Grace. You can receive a 75% Illinois tax credit when you designate scholarship donations to Grace at Empower Illinois through the program. Check out more details at www.empowerillinois.org/donors If you are 70 ½ or older and have a Required Minimum Distribution from your retirement account, talk to your IRA custodian or trustee about how to set up a Qualified Charitable Contribution. This type of contribution goes directly from your IRA to Grace. The donation counts towards your required minimal distribution but does not get included in your gross taxable income. This can be a nice tax benefit, especially if you do not itemize deductions. For an overview of how it works, check out the following article at Forbes.
