Pre-K 4 is focused on preparing students for kindergarten. While many of our students in Pre-K 4 have already completed Pre-K 3, some of our 4-year-old students are new to preschool. The preschool room continues to build on social and emotional skills that are necessary for getting along with classmates and following directions in a class setting while also engaging in early math and reading activities. Mrs. Canjura currently teaches our Pre-K 4 classroom. The class ranges from 10-20 students, with a part-time or full-time aid depending on enrollment.
What sets our Pre-K 4 apart:
CURRICULUM: Focus is on interactive learning with stories, music, activities, interaction, and play. Students are introduced to foundational math and reading skills as well as the social skills needed to be successful in a classroom
CHRISTIAN ENVIRONMENT: Group activities and music promote a big family-like atmosphere where students can enjoy learning
LEARNING ABOUT GOD’S LOVE: Christian truths and fundamental academic skills are both incorporated in Jesus Time where the children use drama and plays as a way to get involved with Bible stories and practice expressing themselves, explaining and retelling stories
EVENTS: Preschool participates in all-school events including Cultural Fair, exploring the culture of a country and sharing their learning with the school through song, dance, and art
